My husband and I saw this in a free screening prior to it opening for regular audiences, and I even wondered if I loved it so much because it was free, but I think I would have liked it just as much had I paid to see it! I do think that the movie benefits from being shown on a big wide screen with all the outdoor scenes - not sure I would have liked it so much had I seen it on a TV size screen. I felt all the characters were perfectly cast. While it may seem like a nit, the only annoying factor to me was that Eddie's glasses were falling down his nose the whole time - and while I know that was part of the character, it drove me crazy watching him!! However, the movie kept my interest the entire time, and was extremely enjoyable. By the end, I had tears of happiness streaming down my face - definitely one of the best feel-good movies I have seen in a long time!! HIGHLY recommend!!

Gods of Egypt is a 2016 fantasy film featuring ancient Egyptian deities. The United States-Australia production is directed by Alex Proyas and stars Nikolaj Coaster-Waldau, Brenton Thwaites, Chadwick Boseman, Elodie Yung, Courtney Eaton, Rufus Sewell, with Gerard Butler and Geoffrey Rush. Butler plays the god of darkness Set who takes over the Egyptian empire, and Thwaites plays the mortal hero Bek who partners with the god Horus, played by Coaster-Waldau, to save the world and rescue his love.

Filming took place in Australia under the American studio Summit Entertainment. While the film's production budget was $140 million, the parent company Lionsgate's financial exposure was less than $10 million due to tax incentives and pre-sales. The Australian government provided a tax credit for 46% of the film's budget. When Lionsgate began promoting the film in November 2015, it received backlash for its predominantly white cast playing Egyptian characters. In response, Lionsgate and director Alex Proyas apologized for the lack of casting diversity.

Lionsgate released Gods of Egypt in theaters globally starting on February 25, 2016 in 2D, RealD 3D, and IMAX 3D. It released the film in the United States, Canada, and 68 other markets on February 26, 2016 and will release it in the United Kingdom on April 8, 2016.

The survival of mankind hangs in the balance when Set (Gerard Butler), the merciless god of darkness, usurps Egypt's throne and plunges the prosperous empire into chaos and conflict. Hoping to save the world and rescue his true love, a defiant mortal named Bek (Brenton Thwaites) forms an unlikely alliance with the powerful god Horus (Nikolaj Coaster-Waldau). Their battle against Set and his henchmen takes them into the afterlife and across the heavens for an epic confrontation.

Okay… I don't know where to start… there were times where I liked it and times where I didn't like it all. I feel like it had more potential. first of all too many dirty joke. and I like dirty jokes but this was just too much.. I felt like I watched a teenage boy trapped in a grown mans body… and he had just discovered the words: D***, penis, fart, masturbate and F***. AND I don't know… the whole "be a bad ass douche and you'll get your D** wet".. I don't feel like that sends out the right message to young guys.. I don't know?? One thing I liked a lot though was that they opened up/broke the fourth wall. (if you don't know what that is look it up it) Overall it was pretty entertaining and a lot of raw action, but you have to see it for what it really is "FANTASY, MARVEL, Fiction". Oh, and there are better films to take your girlfriend, this is more of a "chilling with the mates" kind of film. Words to help describe this film: cancer, revenge, D***, fart, mansion, self touching. I give it 7 out of 10.

I know doing CGI in daytime is pretty difficult, but if this is Hollywood: expectations are high. They decided to go cheap on the cgi and look what happens. some things are and should stay expensive. The movie direction, camera angles, acting were superb; but the CGI was almost close to those you see in Chinese releases. I wouldn't be surprised if they hired a team from there. Don't get me wrong not hating on China, but the masters of CGI are here in the US. The explosions were so bad it made me cringe. And that London bridge scene... the physics were worse than what you would see in a low budget video game. This movie would have been a 8/10, but it deserves somewhere between 6-7 because of that.

Zootopia is nothing like your regular Disney fare. Sure it's got cute talking animals, some childish humor, and like almost all Disney movies it is gorgeously animated and has a lesson to teach, but not just to kids. This movie absolutely blew me away from the moment it began. The messages and lessons that this film has to tell are so beyond it's years, there were many times that I just forgot that I was watching an animated film about a bunny who wanted to a cop. I believe that this Disney has struck gold with this movie, not just in the terms that Disney will make bank loads of money from ticket sales and merchandise (cause it will), but because they created a truly well crafted, well written, and beautifully, breathtakingly animated film that is sure to delight children and entice their parents. Please go see Zootopia because it IS like nothing you've 

seen Be-fur.

The Revenant, the movie that will give Leonardo DiCaprio his first Oscar. For the second time in the last two years we have been blessed by the extraordinary vision and direction of director Alejandro González Iñárritu. Iñárritu brought this amazing story Hugh Glass, the frontiersman, fur trapper, and explorer that was mauled by a grizzly bear and ultimately left for dead by the company that hired him. The film follows the theme of the will to survive, bringing the audience to question, What would you do to survive?

Leonardo DiCaprio will win his first Oscar for his role as Hugh Glass. If he does not win the award there is something wrong with the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The scenery was amazing and to know that the film was shot with no artificial light. With Iñárritu at the forefront again don't be surprised to see him win for best director again and it sure looks promising that The Revenant will win Best Picture. 

I urge you to see this film because of the trials and tribulation that Hugh Glass went through. The shot selection that Iñárritu used was fantastic and personally I wouldn't change it. From the opening body camera to the closing close up, the film kept you engaged and wanting more. 

Alejandro González Iñárritu may not be the easiest man to work with in the film industry but he sure knows how to direct and how to make something truly fantastic. Though certain characters didn't have the most dialogue, what they did say ended up leaving more of an impact. Tom Hardy was fantastic as John Fitzgerald and really did a good job convincing the audience that he was doing the right thing throughout the movie. 

Overall the film was great and will pull in some awards and people like DiCaprio and Iñárritu will be recognized for their work. The film emotionally connected with audiences challenging them to put themselves in Glass' situation. It calls into morally what one would do, as well as, spiritually what one would do. The quotes "I ain't afraid to die anymore. I'd done it already" really makes the audience fell for Glass and that all he does to survive and his actions are justifiable and that it is true that he has died and does not care if he does so again. 

As I finish, I would give this movie an 8.8 out of 10 and for one last time I applaud the job Iñárritu did directing and the performance of DiCaprio and Hardy as well as others like Will Poulter and Domhnall Gleeson. I will leave you with the quote that stuck with me and really ties the movie together. After watching the film really think about this quote,

"Revenge is in god's hands not mine"
